Last year Birdman gave Lil Wayne a million in cash for his birthday. This year Lil Wayne receives a million dollar choppard watch for his 27th birthday. The rapper celebrated his birthday this weekend alongside close family and friends. Were told the rapper celebrated by popping bottles of champagne and eating cake that was covered with diamonds. Family and friends spent time with Wayne as he opened gifts which included a million dollar watch from rapper Birdman as well as a $200,000 Chopard black diamond chain.
I swear any and everything will come out these days. Like honestly, I don’t really care that Obama thinks Kanye is a “jackass”. Half the world thinks that already. Things said off the record should be kept off the record. Here’s the audio though.

I know some are going to read this and think I’m being mean because Taylor Swift is young, blond (fill in the blank with your excuse du jour) and I should therefore cut her some slack. If you’re looking for sympathy, you came to the wrong place. I serve it straight. The fact of the matter is that, before tonight, Taylor Swift was only known in certain circles, or rather, certain demographic groups. Before Kanye made an otherwise boring, talentless, flash-in-the-pan relevant tonight, if you were to ask the average person my age about Taylor Swift, they’d think you were drunk and trying to talk about those Swift brown & serve sausage links. Now thanks to Kanye, not only are all of her “fans” [read: people who are too young to have a valid opinion about music] going to support this chick in droves, but now she’s got something that she didn’t have before too–a whole new group of fans consisting of “real Americans” (see: Sarah Palin-types) who are now going to support her by taking their raggedy behind children to see her whine and screech her way through a show because they want to support the White chick who “stood up to” the “big, scary Black man.” That translates into more money for Taylor Swift, which, let’s face it, she’s gotta rush to make while she stretches the heck out of her fifteen minutes. Kanye just made her more money, and truth be told, I fail to see the downside, folks, especially in a depression. If you want me to feel sorry for this chick, I honestly just can’t do it. Kanye turned what would’ve been another below-average “singer” getting an award nobody would remember five years from now (let alone ten or twenty) into the belle of the ball. Think about it. When is the last time this girl got a standing ovation from folks over the age of ten? And not for nothing, but in a show that was supposed to be dedicated to the greatest man to ever do it, instead of getting boo’ed off the stage for ripping off MJ’s subway performance idea [read: "Bad"], the crowd instead acted like it was the greatest spectacle the world had ever seen. What she actually deserved was for Jermaine to stop her in the middle of her “performance” and grab the mic right out of her hand like Kanye did. And hell, if you think about it, I’m being nice (look at that, I have a sweet side after all) because there was someone else sitting next to Jermaine tonight. Imagine if Papa Joe had run up on this chick and grabbed that mic. She’d never pollute our airwaves again. But unfortunately, none of what should’ve happened actually did. This girl ended up getting all kinds of extra attention, love, support and accolades tonight. Why? Two words: Kanye West. And you want me to feel sorry for her? Please. What she needs to do is cut Kanye a check.
Saigon has confirmed with AllHipHop.com the release of Warning Shots 2. Working again with label Amalgam Digital, the project will be marketed as a full-length album distributed through CD and digital formats. “I’m enjoying my experience with Amalgam Digital and being creative to give music to my fans without all the bullsh*t,” Saigon explained to AllHipHop.com. “It’s a new way of thinking and it feels good to partner with an innovative company that’s ahead of its curve. I’m excited to get this album out!”
Warning Shots 2 will be available at retail outlets on September 29th.
Jay Electronica and Just Blaze are like the girl who will give you a taste, will linger around but makes you wait months for the yams. As opposed to releasing music weekly and it being listened to and thrown away like yesterdays garbage. I constantly fiending for their music as they approach the game on some 48 laws of power shit (#16 use absence to increase your respect and honor) Where the fuck is Exhibit B though? And can we get the full version of Exhibit A Remix with Mos Def and god knows who else is on there. Dammmmmmnnnnn….and when the hell is Saigon’s album gonna drop?
We all know Dr. Dre has an ear for beats, but the West Coast superproducer also has a keen sense of recognizing upcoming lyrical talent.
Dre’s The Chronic launched Snoop Dogg’s career, and his second solo album, 2001, helped solidify Eminem as a serious talent to pay attention to in the game. With his third opus on the way, the good doctor has tapped South Central rookie Slim Da Mobster to contribute to Detox, alongside heavyweights like Lil Wayne and T.I.
“I’m not even focused on my album right now,” Slim told us in Los Angeles. “I’m all about his album. ‘Cause the better I do on that, the better it is for the situation with my album.”
Da Mobster might be new on the scene, but the Los Angeles rhyme-spitter impressed Eminem so much that he pushed to have him ink a deal.
After getting the co-signs from the big homies Dre and Em, 50 Cent was the next to jump onboard behind the young rapper. Now, Slim Da Mobster is the first artist signed to all three artists, representing G-Unit/Shady/Aftermath.
To add to the repertoire, Slim is managed by industry veteran John Monopoly, who helped usher Kanye West from producer to breakthrough artist.
We all know about Dre’s habit of not getting exposure to many artists. I really hope Slim Da Monster can take advantage of this opportunity and not end up like Hitman who played a very significant role in Dr. Dre 2001 only to end up fading into Bolivia and never releasing an album.
